CR-V was introduced in Japan, the Honda Verno dealerships only. The North American market it was reflected in the 1996 Chicago auto show and went on sale in February 1997.  the model was only one trim level, which later became known as the LX model trim; 2.0 L straight-four was powered by a 128 HP produces a B20B (95 kW) and 133 lb · ft (180 N · m) of torque. The exterior, this engine is the same as the Integras 1.8 L engine, but internally the engine was a larger 84 mm (3.3) was to add an extra offset needed to produce more torque.
